Psalm 17 (on behalf of Mark)
First glance: nothing different, same crying and pleading in the same dangerous situation which the Psalmist seemed to always put himself into, as if he had intended it.But we are NOT reading the bible. We are waiting for the Lord to speak to us. So I asked God what was the word for me?
v3b: I have resolved that my mouth will not sin...
A familiar proverb came to my mind.(forgot which one)
"A soft answer turns away wrath but a harsh word stirs up anger"
God used this to teach me how to teach when I first started teaching. Not just teaching in school but also teaching in SUNDAY SCHOOL.. So for the young brats who graduated from P6 Barnabas, NOW you know how hard it was for me back then.. to withhold my wrath and put on the friendliest side of me.. haha..
Today, resolve to always watch what comes from your lips and remind (not judge) one another when we make a slip of the tongue! Even words like "u so gay" can cause somebody to reflect on it a long time after you have said it. They will think "I really gay meh?" and Satan will say "Definitely, so-and-so said it before but you thought he was joking"
Words can either MAKE or BREAK a person, it's our choice!
