Psalms
Okay. Since I'm going OBS for this whole week. I'll post my reflections on my psalm today!One of my favourite verses that I've read so far is Psalm 2:8
"Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession."
Similarly, Psalm 4:3b
"The LORD will hear when I call to him."
These verses tells me to keep on praying, and as we knock, God will open the door unto us! So pray! Its very important. Whatever you lack, whatever you need, ask God and He'll answer you. Sometimes he's prompt, sometime's he takes quite a while. But He'll answer you in the end.
And a little bit of cross-referencing...
Philippians 4:6-7
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
I like Psalms 4:7 too.
"You have filled my heart with greater joy than when their grain and new wine abound."
This, to me, means that God has given me such great joy that it surpasses that of when other people have great successes and all they want! That's what I feel now! =)
And of course. Lessons we can learn like Psalms 2:11
"Serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling."
Quite clear cut. We can't just treat God flippantly.
And Psalms 4:4
"In your anger do not sin, when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent."
Don't get angry to easily, don't hold anything against anyone. Tell me if there's anything else about this verse when I get back.
And of course, promises that we should claim!
Psalms 2:3
"But You are a shield around me O Lord, You bestow glory on me and lift up my head!"
Psalms 5:11-12
 11 But let all who take refuge in you be glad;
       let them ever sing for joy.
       Spread your protection over them,
       that those who love your name may rejoice in you.
 12 For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous;
       you surround them with your favor as with a shield.
Psalms 6:9-10
9 The LORD has heard my cry for mercy;
the LORD accepts my prayer.
10 All my enemies will be ashamed and dismayed;
they will turn back in sudden disgrace.
AND FINALLY, as I'm sure you're bored to death now, something to remind us we're saved by grace, not by works.
Psalms 5:7
7 But I, by your great mercy,
will come into your house;
in reverence will I bow down
toward your holy temple.
Okay, with that I'm done.
See you guys next sunday, and I look forwards to all your sharing! =)
God Bless!
